Beakn collects sensitive health data. This policy is written in plain English so you know exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

01 · Who We Are

Beakn is operated by Beakn Devices Private Limited, incorporated in India. We make smart health devices — the Ring, Band, Scale, Glasses, BP Monitor, Pulse Oximeter, and Thermometer — and the Beakn app that connects them. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our devices and app, how we use it, and your rights.

02 · What We Collect

Account & Profile
  • Name, phone number, date of birth, gender
  • Height, weight, health goals and dietary preferences
  • Profile and onboarding preferences
Health & Biometric Data
  • Heart rate, resting HR, HRV, stress score
  • Blood oxygen (SpO₂), ECG waveforms, blood pressure (systolic / diastolic)
  • Body temperature (skin and forehead)
  • Sleep stages (deep / light / REM / awake), sleep score, sleep efficiency
  • Steps, calories, distance, exercise sessions, GPS route maps (outdoor workouts only)
  • Body composition — weight, BMI, body fat %, muscle mass, bone mass, visceral fat, water %, protein %, body age
Device & Technical Data
  • Device identifiers, MAC addresses, firmware versions, battery level
  • Bluetooth connection logs
  • App crash reports (if you opt in, or when we enable crash reporting in a future update — we will update this policy before doing so)
AI Assistant Data
  • Voice recordings and their text transcripts when you speak to the AI
  • Photos captured through Smart Glasses when you trigger AI image analysis
  • Relevant health data from your account provided to the AI as context to answer your question (for example, your recent sleep data when you ask "how did I sleep this week?")
  • Full conversation history (saved per session)
Family Circle Data
  • Phone numbers and email addresses of people you invite to your health circle
  • Relationship labels you assign (spouse, parent, child, etc.)
Media (Smart Glasses only)
  • Photos, videos, and audio recordings captured through the glasses
  • Stored on your device and transferred to your phone only when you choose to import

03 · How We Use It

  • Operate the app and sync data from your devices
  • Generate your health dashboard, trend charts, scores, and AI-powered insights
  • Power the AI assistant — your health data is sent to our AI provider to answer your specific question
  • Send push notifications for health alerts, firmware updates, family invites, and measurement reminders
  • Sync with Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Health (Android) — only if you turn this on
  • Share device readings with family members you have explicitly invited and who have accepted
  • Improve our products (using aggregated, anonymised data only — never identifiable health records)
We do not use your health data for advertising. We do not sell your data.

04 · Who We Share Data With

AI Provider

When you use the AI assistant, the text of your query, relevant health context, and any images you capture are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. We share only the minimum data needed to answer your question. The AI provider processes this data under a data processing agreement and is not permitted to use it for their own training or advertising.

Apple Health & Google Health

If you enable health platform sync, your metrics are shared with Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health (Android) on your device. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies govern that data once it leaves Beakn. Deleting your Beakn account does not remove data from Apple Health or Google Health — you manage that separately in your device's health app settings.

Family Members

Readings from devices you've explicitly shared are visible to the family members who have accepted your invitation. You can revoke sharing at any time.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose data if required by Indian law, a valid court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

05 · Where Data Is Stored

All personal and health data is stored on servers located in India (Mumbai / Bengaluru region). We do not transfer your data outside India except when you use the AI assistant, where your query and relevant health context may be processed by our AI provider's infrastructure. That transfer is covered by appropriate contractual safeguards.

06 · How Long We Keep It

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Account deletion: When you delete your account in the app, your personal data and health records are permanently deleted from our databases. Residual copies in encrypted backup systems are purged within 30 days. If you only delete a specific device from your account, the health data recorded by that device is deleted along with it.

07 · Your Rights

You have the right to:
  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct or update inaccurate data
  • Erasure — delete your account and all associated data from within the app at any time
To exercise any right, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or email us at support@beakn.in. Note: deleting your Beakn account does not remove data already synced to Apple Health or Google Health — manage that in your device's health app.

08 · Children

The app is for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at support@beakn.in and we will delete the account and all associated data within 7 days.

09 · Not Medical Advice

Beakn devices and the app are wellness products. They are not registered medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. ECG readings, blood pressure measurements, SpO₂ values, and all other metrics shown in the app are for general wellness awareness only. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns.

10 · Changes to This Policy

When we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via an in-app notification at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
